The question everyone asks

What licence do I need?

A current NSW boat driving licence, or an interstate or overseas equivalent. Whoever is at the helm needs to be 25 or over, and we’ll check the licence when you arrive.

If nobody in your group holds one, that’s not the end of it — we can put a skipper on board and you get the whole boat to yourselves without having to drive it. Just tell us when you enquire.

No licence at all? Our no licence boats need no licence, no test and no experience — you drive them yourself after a briefing on the day.

Where you can go

The whole of Sydney Harbour is open to you — under the Harbour Bridge and past the Opera House, out to Manly and Store Beach, into Rose Bay and Watsons Bay, around Shark Island, or west up the Parramatta River. With 350hp under you it’s an easy run to any of it.

The one limit is that you can’t head outside Sydney Heads.

Getting there

Pickup and parking

The Sports Cruiser departs from Mosman, near the Spit Bridge. Paid parking is usually available close by, with free parking about a five-minute walk away on Pearl Bay Road. Buses run regularly to the reserve.

Common questions

Do I need a boat licence for this boat?

Yes. The Sports Cruiser needs a licensed driver aged 25 or over. A NSW licence or an interstate or overseas equivalent is fine, and we check it on the day.

What if nobody has a licence?

We can put a skipper on board. You still get the whole boat to yourselves — you just don’t drive it.

How many people can come?

Up to 8 guests.

Is there a toilet on board?

Yes, a private toilet cubicle.

Can we swim off the boat?

Yes. There is a large swim platform at the back.

How long are the hires?

A half day is 4 hours in summer (10:30am–2:30pm or 3pm–7pm) and 3.5 hours in winter (9:30am–1pm or 2pm–5:30pm). A full day is 8 hours in summer (10:30am–6:30pm) or 7 hours in winter (9:30am–4:30pm) — exact times always show when you pick your date.

Is fuel included?

No. On the Sports Cruiser fuel is payable at the end of the hire, based on what you actually use. Our no licence boats include fuel in the price.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes — a refundable $1,250 security hold, released after the boat comes back in good order.

Why do prices say “from”?

Weekdays are the standard rate. Weekends, the 19 December – 26 January peak and public holidays are charged at the peak rate. The exact price for your date is shown before you pay.

Do you have a boat that needs no licence?

Yes — see our no licence boats. No licence, no test and no experience needed.
